The Basic elements of the 3rd dimension.

The basic elements of the 3D world are the 2D elements just in a different dimension.
A sprite is now a mesh. It can still be rigged, animated, and so on. Scripts are still the same old thing but there is one difference, Z, there is a new coordinate called Z, other than that it's the same.
Backgrounds do not exist any more. Instead of dealing with lots of squares in 2D, now in 3D you are dealing with lots of cubes. Everything is in a cube. Now let's start out by talking about the Mesh element.
A mesh is a 3D image made up of polygons. Most people now about the polygons, but most people don't know what a polygon is. A polygon is a plane figure with at least 3 or more sides and angles. Normally it's five angles.
So just to clear things up, it's a shape. So a mesh is a 3D image made up of shapes.
3D models are composed of one or more meshes. 3D modeling programs allow you to manipulate meshes by changing the geometry of the polygons. My favorite modeling program is Blender as you might know, another good one is 3DS max, but I like Blender better.
We will go into more detail about Blender, models, and meshes in the next post.
So till then Bye and thanks for reading.
